Brian Price Wicks

Aircraftman Brian Price Wicks, Date of Birth - 21/07/1923 : Place of Birth - Unley Park, South Australia; RAAF 416815, (later Flight Sergeant, 576 Squadron, RAF) of 106 Cross Road Highgate, South Australia. Wicks was the next door neighbour to Sidney Forrester, Wicks was a clerk prior to enlisting in September 1941. Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt )Wicks was the Air Gunner aboard Lancaster LM332 which took off from RAF Elsham Wolds, Lincolnshire, on the night on 16 December 1943 for a mission over Berlin. The aircraft collided with Lancaster “Q” from 103 Squadron shortly afterward and crashed near Ulceby Lincolnshire. All on board were killed. Flt Sgt Wicks was 20 years of age and with the rest of his crew were buried at 11:30 hours on Thursday December 23rd at Cambridge Regional Cemetery.
